Transportation

DOE has reached an agreement with 60 bus companies and will have bus service by first day of school for all students who are eligible for DOE transportation. There will be approximately 6,000 special education routes and 2,500 general education routes, serving approximately 100,000 students.  DOE’s Office of Pupil Transportation has already begun to let families know about their routes, and will complete all notifications by the end of next week.Bus route information can also be accessed through your New York City SchoolsAccount (NYCSA) or by calling your child’s school.

There will be health and safety measures for our children and bus company employees. Buses will operate at 25% capacity to allow for social distancing, and due to the blended model the bus routes will accommodate all in-person kids during the day. Buses will be deep cleaned every night, and everyone will wear a mask.

All companies will have:

300k masks 10k face shields

Disposable plastic gloves

300k bottles of hand sanitizer

Electrostatic sprayer
