Weekly Update For Families - December, 20th

*Important Announcement*

Many students are submitting vaccination status or negative Covid test to return to school to the main office instead of uploading the documents via the DOE vaccination portal. Students must submit proof of a negative test and vaccination status through the DOE’s COVID-19 Vaccination Portal.

Letter From Chancellor - Safety Letter

Dear Families,

It has come to our attention that there is a social media challenge proposed on TikTok and other social media platforms encouraging students to “call in bomb threats, school shooting threats, etc.” at schools across the United States. This social media challenge is not specific to only New York City, and many of the posts are general and not specific to any one school.

Classroom or School Closures

Good afternoon,
I have received the following communication from the Office of the First Deputy Chancellor: There is no imminent plan or intent to transition to remote learning system-wide.

Cell Phone Issues

Good afternoon,

All Cavallaro Students and Families received our I.S. 281 policy on cell phone usage. Cell phones are NOT to be used on school property as detailed below, this includes texting. If a family member wishes to contact their child, they must call the main office at 718-996-6706. While students are permitted to bring cell phones to school, they must remain off and away.
