Social-emotional skills are essential for student success inside and outside of school. Research has consistently shown that developing the social and emotional skills of students helps them thrive academically, gain confidence, and be happier.

Strong Resilient NYC - SEL screener - DESSA

To support our students in developing these essential skills, NYCDOE is implementing an SEL screener and intervention program that will help in providing targeted, highly responsive support to each individual student. We will build on each student's strengths while identifying skills they need to further develop.

Parents/guardians who have not done so yet, please create a NYC Schools Account (NYCSA), in order to view your child’s attendance, report card grades, transportation information, reading levels, assessment scores, and progress towards graduation for high school students.
