Learning Bridges Free Childcare

Good afternoon,


As the New York City Department of Education continues with in-person schooling in the months ahead, they have established support for our families who are programmed for a blended learning model. Meaning, for those students who are scheduled on an A/B group schedule having some school days in person and some school days remotely. Learning Bridges is a new program that will provide free child care options for children from 3-K through 8th grade on days when they are scheduled for remote learning.

The Learning Bridges programs will: 

  • Be operated by community-based organizations and other partners 
  • Provide opportunities for children to connect to their remote learning activities 
  • Include time for art, recreation, and other age-appropriate activities 
  • Follow the same rigorous health and safety precautions as schools
