If you applied to Summer Rising and received an offer, the last day to accept your child's offer is Thursday, May 8—log in to MySchools to accept or decline your child's offer. Remember that this year, families will not be automatically enrolled—accept your offer by the deadline to secure your child's seat!
2025 Community and Citywide Education Council Elections
Vote for your 2025 Community and Citywide Education Council (CCEC) Elections candidates by Tuesday, May 13 through your NYC Schools Account (NYCSA). If you don't have an account, you can learn how to create one. You will need to have your children linked to your account to vote. Find information about how to vote and learn more about CCECs.
Key Admissions Dates
Upper Grade Gifted and Talented (G&T) Application for Fall 2025 Closes on May 9
G&T programs offer accelerated instruction to eligible students in grades 1-4. If your child is eligible to participate in G&T admissions based on their report card grades, you would have received a notification to your MySchools account email or home address on record with your school. The deadline to apply for fall 2025 on MySchools is Friday, May 9. Learn about G&T eligibility requirements and admissions.
3-K and Pre-K Offers
If you applied to 3-K or Pre-K for fall 2025 by the deadline on February 28, 2025, you will receive your child's Pre-K offer on May 13 or your child's 3-K results on May 20. Log in to your MySchools account to accept the offer and view any waitlists your child is on (if applicable). To learn how offers are made, visit Pre-K or 3-K.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Show your appreciation to your child's teachers throughout the week of May 5-9, 2025! Teachers help our children feel safe, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential inside and outside of the classroom.
Take a moment to thank the teachers making a difference in your life: between now and May 9, sign in as a guest at NYCPS All Stars and enter the name of a cherished NYCPS educator to send your message of support. It's that easy to brighten a teacher's day! We also encourage students and families to celebrate our City's teachers on social media using the hashtag #ThankATeacherNYC.
Climate Action Day
The final NYCPS Climate Action Day for the 2024-25 school year is coming up on Wednesday, May 21! Each Climate Action Day, NYC public school communities engage in activities highlighting climate education and sustainability practices connected to the theme of the day. The theme for May, "Water,"" encourages schools to plan activities throughout the month about water ecosystems, conservation, and adapting to increased rainfall and storms in our city. May Parent-Teacher Conferences
Get ready for this year's last round of parent-teacher conferences (PTCs)! Conferences will be conducted remotely, but can be held in-person upon request.
