Family Newsletter - 5-19-25

  • Thank you to Ms. Rubin, as she worked collaboratively with NIA and the production company on choreography, stage production, sound, costumes and set design. Special thanks to Mr. Solino, who built and created a life-size boat for the stage. I am so proud of the work everyone did to make this a truly unforgettable experience for our Cav families and students. A huge shout out to Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Celina and Mr. Kevin, who is such an amazing team! The love they have for the kids here at Cavallaro shows through the importance they place on bringing every one of their experiences to life in Surround Sound Style!
  • We are pleased to present District 21's May 2025 Newsletter.  https://sway.cloud.microsoft/C1KnWGi6gtDBBhRY?ref=Link
  • Congratulations to Mr. Tran and the virtual enterprise group “Pristine Filtration” for winning third place in the Virtual Enterprise VE-JV Business Pitch Competition National Championships! Students presented “Pristine Filtration”, which offers advanced water filtration with electrochemical activation. It removes 99.9% of contaminants and retains essential minerals. Their mission statement is “To pasteurize the world’s water with quality and passion”. They worked hard and competed against schools across the nation. We are so proud!
  • On Tues, May 13th, Mr. Hutton's STEM students went on a trip to the Brooklyn Bridge. They learned about the history of the Bridge and the engineering behind building one of the most famous bridges in the world. Then they had the opportunity to walk to the first tower of the Bridge and see all the major parts up close, while exploring the many sights of the Bridge and NYC. The students had a great time and learned a lot about the important role that the Brooklyn Bridge and other bridges play in the success of our city.
  • On Sat, May 10th, two teams from Mr. Hutton's 6th Grade STEM class competed in the Minecraft Education Brooklyn Championships. The Building Endermen Team and Team Llama competed live against the top 25 Minecraft teams in Brooklyn. It was a tough competition, but both teams did an excellent job planning, working together and building their World. Team Llama won in the Semi-Final round and advanced to the Championship round. Unfortunately, they did not win in the Finals, but all the students had a great time competing in the e-sports Challenge. Mr. Hutton and the entire Cavallaro community are very proud of the effort the students put into the Minecraft Competition
