Family Newsletter - 6-2-25

  • A special thank you to our Testing Team, for ensuring that our end-of-year iReady diagnostics were administered to make certain that the most positive results and gains reflecting student progress and achievement are met. Families will have the results of their child's end of year diagnostics later in the month.

  • Thank you to Ms. Rubin and her dance students, who put on a spectacular dance performance Tuesday evening. It certainly was a Magical Night of Disney. The show highlighted the work her students did all year, as well as presented a tribute video montage to say farewell to her Cavallaro dance team. Special thanks to all who assisted that evening, as well as to Ms. Napoli who did a great job as emcee for the night
  • Our entire school community enjoyed celebrating the day together with a Crazy Cavallaro Carnival Extravaganza. Everyone joined in the fun throughout the day, eating delicious food and snacks, dancing and singing along with Mr. DJ, taking part in fun carnival games, video trucks, and activities, as well as having fun at the Dunk Tank. I need to give a huge shout out to our Dunk Tank volunteers, Mr. Kim, Mr. Trim and Mr. Febbraro. Thank you to everyone for the support, coverage and assistance in making the day so special for our kids. Most notably – a huge shout out to Ms. Chris, who was the Master and Commander of this event.
  • Thursday evening, we celebrated our Senior National Junior Honor Society students with a special dinner at Gargiulo’s. It was such a great experience for them to be treated to an honorary dinner at a fancy restaurant. Special thank you to Ms. Gerber, who orchestrated and coordinated the evening, making the kids feel a sense of achievement and acknowledging their successes. Special thanks to Ms. Zambri for taking care of the parting gifts, as well as to those teachers who attended the dinner, selected by our Arista students, as those adults who made the most impact on them.

  • On Thursday, our SGO class representatives had the incredible opportunity to visit the iconic Empire State Building. The students enjoyed a breathtaking ride to the 86th floor, where they took in spectacular panoramic views of New York City from the observation deck. In addition to soaking up the skyline, they explored the building’s rich history through interactive exhibits and historical displays.  It was a memorable experience that celebrated their hard work and leadership all year long

  • The Cavallaro Soccer Team had an unforgettable experience at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday evening, where they attended the NYCFC vs. Houston Dynamo match as a special end of year activity. A highlight of the evening was when 28 students were selected for an exciting half-time experience, which allowed them to go to the pitch where professional soccer players train. A special shout out to Ms. Vasquez, our Cav Soccer head coach, for her dedication and hard work with the team all year and for organizing this memorable outing with Mr. Yodice. Thank you both for making this opportunity possible for our student athletes. Many thanks as well to those staff members who volunteered to chaperone and support our students.

  • We began collecting at home electronic devices from our 8th Grade graduates. Please ensure your 8th grade child returns their electronics prior to the end of the year.
