Letter to Community from Isabel DiMola

This announcement brings both excitement and a sense of bittersweet reflection. As a proud graduate of P.S. 216, I.S. 303, and Edward R. Murrow High School, District 21 is much more than the place where I have worked. It is my home. It is where I grew up, where I learned, and where I first discovered the transformative power of education. The opportunity to give back to the community that shaped me has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

Throughout the years, I have had the privilege of working alongside passionate educators, devoted families, and inspiring students in one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in New York City. Together, we have faced challenges, celebrated successes, and remained steadfast in our mission to ensure that every child receives the high-quality education they deserve.

As I take this next step in my professional journey, I do so with complete confidence in the continued strength and success of our district under the leadership of Acting Superintendent Erin Lynch-Reyes. I am certain that District 21 will remain in capable hands and continue to thrive.

Although I am excited to serve the students and families of New York City in a broader capacity, District 21 will always hold a very special place in my heart. I am deeply grateful for your trust, your partnership, and your unwavering commitment to our schools.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving this extraordinary community. I will carry the spirit of District 21 with me in all that I do and look forward to continuing our shared mission across the city.

With heartfelt gratitude and respect,

Isabel DiMola
