Our 6th graders really felt the IMPACT on what it means to persevere through all of the challenges we face in life, with a special guest speaker on Tuesday, author Blake Leeper. After completing the book study in ELA of “Why Not Me”, our 6th graders got a firsthand look at how to cope with the struggles presented to us and how to use our inner strength to recognize that anything is possible with a positive attitude and confident spirit

Congratulations to our Cavallaro travel soccer team, who showed incredible heart, teamwork, and focus from start to finish, bringing home a WIN as the MSAL Southeast Brooklyn Champions! On to the Brooklyn borough playoffs!

Dr. Jeffrey, Mr. Trim and our Cavallaro Debate Team will be partnering with the Agape Group to support them as they prepare to compete in the citywide American Debate League.

Our 8th grade Cavallaro Dual Language students took part in their first visit as teacher helpers, as we have partnered with PS 101's dual language program. We are so proud to see our Cavallaro students taking on the teacher role. Ms. He shared that Cav students delivered interactive and meaningful lessons to the students and also assisted the classroom teachers with small group instruction.

This week begins our SGO sponsored Door Decorating contest for the holidays to encourage school spirit and brighten up our hallways this season. A class will sponsor their teacher, and help to decorate the classroom door for this fun event. The contest will run into the first week of December, with judging to take place tentatively on December 15th. One overall winner for each grade will receive a special lunch party and the runner up class in each grade will receive a consolation prize. Let the games being…..

Ms. Singer was excited to begin lunchroom library today. She can get a pass from their grade dean at the start of their lunch period to spend time in the library. The library is also open for students each morning from 7:25 - 7:50. Students need a pass from Ms. Singer to be permitted to enter the school early.
