There is a lot to celebrate...Coach Kasdan and our girls' volleyball team dominated the District 21 Volleyball Classic Tournament, bringing home a beautiful trophy. We wish the team the best of luck as they head into the D21 championship game this Wednesday. Congratulations as well to our robotics team, the Tech Toads, who placed 2nd in the First Lego League competition, securing their spot in the City Championship.

We welcomed back our Friday attendance incentive program in an effort to encourage more students to be present in school each day. On Friday's, we will be raffling off special gifts for students in all three grades who have perfect attendance for the week. I do want to take this time to give a special shout out to our Attendance Team and Success Mentors, who have been doing tremendous work with the students and families to improve our attendance data. We want to see all our kids benefit from the educational environment we have fostered here at Cav.

The Eye on Education Program was back again last week, providing free eye exams in our library for our Cavallaro students. This was an excellent opportunity for our Cav families to receive necessary eye care and free eyeglasses if their children need. Special thanks to Ms. Chris, for coordinating and managing the program. Next up will be our free dental program, Smile NYC. See attached information if you would like your child to receive free dental cleaning on March 18th or 19th.

On March 18th and March 19th, we will have the privilege of offering our families a mobile dental exam service. Licensed professionals from Smile NY Dental Program will give your child a comprehensive dental exam. Services include: cleaning, exam, fluoride treatment, sealants and x-rays when needed. There is no cost to families. Parents must provide insurance information if they have it since Smile NY is required to submit for services, however parents never receive a bill for services provided. All children are seen, regardless of ability to pay. All students leave with an oral health report card, so you know the health of your child. If you are interested in having your child receive a dental exam, please fill out the attached form and return it to the main office by March 17th. I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to evaluate your child’s teeth.

Report cards will be distributed on March 11th. Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, March 12th. Student dismissal will be at 11:10am, and conferences will be held virtually from 12:10pm - 2:10 pm and 4:30pm - 7:30pm. Please make sure to schedule time with your child's teachers through Jupiter or on their Google classroom.
